A Little About Me

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I’m Candice! A wife, mother, stay-at-home mom and a Christian. I love doing crafts, crochet, Zumba (I’ve been a Zumba instructor for 4 years now, although not currently teaching since we moved to Texas) and DIYing!

My husband and I will celebrate our 12th anniversary this month. It’s gone by so fast! We have 3 of the cutest girls ever, but I could be a little biased. In the last 12 years we have moved four times. Our first move was to Texas, then two years in Minnesota (it was COLD), down to New Mexico and back to Texas for the last 6 months. In every house we lived in we have done our best to improve them in some way. So we have done many projects together.

Maybe I watched a little too much HGTV, if that’s even possible, but there were so many great home improvement ideas that we figured we could do ourselves. So we dove right in to Do-It-Yourself and haven’t turned back since.

We started with simple things like painting, adding crown molding, changing baseboards and quickly worked our way up to installing laminate flooring, tiling backsplash, floors and showers, plumbing, refinishing cabinets, dry wall, metal roofing and more. Our last big project was our master bathroom in our last home, which we finished right before we moved. We were so happy with how it turned out, but literally got to enjoy it for about 2 weeks. So sad. Now, our current project is a total kitchen makeover in our new home.

Our Master Bath Reno

We tiled the floor, shower and tub surround and had a custom glass door installed. We loved it!

Our latest move to west Texas has been a challenge. The housing market is a bit difficult and it took us months to find a house with several offers and contracts falling through in the process. I think we looked at almost every single house on the market in this little town. We had originally wanted to find a house that needed zero work to give our girls a break from the DIY chaos, but that didn’t seem to be a part of God’s plan for us. So here we are in our new house using our DIY skills to make a home for our little family. We want to get it started right away so we can enjoy it for more than 2 weeks. HaHa!

This was a difficult move for us as we left behind family, friends and church family back in New Mexico. We were there for almost 4 years. However, we know God has a plan for us and it has already been a great blessing for my husband’s career. So we will continue to rely on God and put our “all” into everything we do so that He may be glorified!

1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether, then, you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God.
