HI! My name is Candice and am excited to have you visiting my new blog! I’ve had the idea of starting a blog in the back of my mind for a while now, but had no idea what I would write about. Also, add the fears of “would anyone want to listen to what I have to say”. My mom and I even talked about starting one together but never acted on it. Then a few weeks ago my husband and I were demolishing our kitchen. We were standing in the middle of broken tile, a laminate countertop in pieces and cabinets being pulled off the walls, when I said, “I should start a blog about all our crazy DIY stuff!” To us, this is normal, just the start of yet another project, but this isn’t “normal” to everybody. This is FUN for us and I want to share it with you.
My husband and I are DIYers and have done many projects together in our almost 12 years of marriage. I thought it would be fun to document all our upcoming projects we have planned for our new house in west Texas. We do have a lot planned! Starting with our kitchen!
However, as I thought about just how I wanted to set up my blog (and I have put some serious thought into it) I wanted to make sure I included more than just our DIY projects. As much fun as I have with our DIY’s and the satisfaction of finishing a project it is not the only aspect of my life I want to share. I am a wife, a mother to 3 beautiful girls and most importantly a Christian.
As my faith is what guides every aspect of my life it only made sense to make it an important part of my blog. I am a sinner, who has been saved by God’s amazing grace through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. That’s powerful! There is nothing I did or could ever do to save myself. It is ALL God’s grace, a free gift. Isn’t that amazing!
My hopes with the blog is to be an encouragement to all Christian women in all walks of life. Maybe along the way you’ll be inspired to do your own DIY projects, just because it’s fun. Please join me again as I tell you more about myself, our DIY journey and the meaning behind “One Glad Morning”.
Thanks for visiting!
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works so that no one may boast.
